American Destiny Movie Poster is Created

Marcella Luiso Flanagan commissioned Phyllis Orlowski to create the movie poster for American Destiny in 2012. The painting represents Marcella as a young, successful fashion designer and entrepreneur in New York City with freedom to work hard, be creative, and thrive!

Marcella was the first woman in her Italian family to work outside of the home. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1954, taught there, and was a prominent New York City fashion designer for children's clothing for over five decades. Her third design was worn by the granddaughter of President Eisenhower. She became one of the first successful women manufacturers in New York City. She also was a pioneer and an advocate for women in business whose partners would not permit her to make corporate financial decisions or own a credit card until the 1970's. Marcella was the founding public relations director for the New York Association of Women Business Owners in 1975, and a member of the American Arbitration Association in 1977. Furthermore, Marcella was the head designer for the Cheryl Tiegs' fashion line in 1982. Marcella opened her own high-end boutique specializing in high end, one of a kind, evening wear in Bronxville, New York in 1991 until 2000. When President Obama was inaugurated into the White House, opera star, Martina Arroyo performed and wore a Marcella Luiso original design. The American flags signify the glory of America., and in New York City, with the Empire State Building, and what Marcella believes is the most dynamic city in the world.

On September 12, 2009, Marcella married for the first time at age 75, her beloved Edward Flanagan, also his first marriage at age 81. . Unfortunately, due to Edward's illness and his death the movie was delayed. However, Edward supported Marcella fully and backed her to continue with her dream and make American Destiny a reality. And Marcella feels Edward is with her now in spirit.
